But without a doubt, I invested well when I bought myself a couple lovely bird feeders. For a long while at work, I coveted this beauty of a red egg shape. These perfectly simple and charming designs are made by a very enthusiastic ceramicists name Jim Schatz (he sent us fresh baked cookies on a hand thrown plate one holiday!). You can see all of this egg products, including bird houses, lamps, and night lights here. I think they make for an excellent house warming present to loved ones needing to feel settled in. We have done very well with his candy colored goods for years now. Such cheery objects with which to work when making pretty displays.
And then, I found this equally simply and lovely conical shaped feeder by Roost. Like most things they make, it is handmade, of the earth, and affordable. Talk about simple maintenance, this wins! I was trying out a new seed combo this past week, and was happy to see I gained chickadees...one of most favorite for their distinguished black cap. A very naughty fellow kept tossing out whiffs of seed to find the one he really wanted. Alas, I am in need of a re-filling...AGAIN!
But of course, who can resist the colorful finch! Well, aren't I just tickled red. Lucky me....
